Underrun: Building Your Deep Elf City, Part I
The Attercap Archons have authorized this data for release.
Use these tables to create your city. Roll on specific tables only if you want truly random results. If you want to follow some “traditional” patterns, choose “Deep Elf” for both the Ruling Group and Common Population.
Tables for the following:
- Common population - what species or ethnic group is the majority of most common free population
- Ruling Group - species, ethnic group, other power center
- Dominant Gender
- House Status
- House Name Generator
- House Description and Key NPCs

Deep Elf Houses
The most common employers are Deep Elf noble houses struggling against one another. Use the tables below to generate them. Create as many as you want and you can always add additional minor houses throughout play. The more houses in your city, the more potential conflict, but also the more activity for the referee and players to keep abreast of.
- Small city: 4 houses
- Medium city: 8 houses
- Large city: 12 houses
Note: if you've already laid out faction and power structures for your city, you may need to overlook or justify some of the specific table results for wealth and status.
House Status
Roll on the table below for each house to determine its status. If your rolls generate a second “Ruling” status, shift to “Upper” and mark a Vendetta against the current Ruling House. If none of the houses initially have “Ruling” status, elevate the house with the highest status to “Ruling”.
Roll | Status | Assets | Enemies |
1 | Ruling | 5 | 2d4 |
2 | Upper | 3 | 1d4+1 |
3 | Upper | 3 | 1d4+1 |
4 | Middle | 2 | 1d3 |
5 | Middle | 2 | 1d3 |

7 | Middle | 2 | 1d3 |
8 | Lower | 1 | 1d2 |
9 | Lower | 1 | 1d2 |

Assets: roll on the Assets table in Appendix A.
Enemies: roll on the Enemies table in Appendix A.
